🧡 Why I Make These Cookies (And You Should Too!)
There’s something special about homemade chocolate chip cookies. The warm, melty centers, the slightly crisp edges, the irresistible smell that fills the kitchen — it’s pure comfort.
Â
But in my house, these cookies are more than a treat — they’re a must-have. My husband absolutely adores them. In fact, he says he could eat them every single day (and I believe him). That’s why I’ve perfected this recipe over the years. It’s buttery, rich, loaded with chocolate, and just the right amount of chewy. No fancy tricks — just good ingredients and lots of love.
Â
Whether you’re baking for family, friends, or just treating yourself, these cookies will not disappoint.
🍪 Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
âś… Ingredients:
250g unsalted butter, softened
200g brown sugar (light or dark, packed)
100g white sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
400g all-purpose flour (about 3ÂĽ cups)
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
Âľ tsp salt
300g chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (semi-sweet/dark/milk – your choice)
(Optional) Flaky sea salt for topping
👩‍🍳 Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line baking trays with parchment paper.
- Cream the butter and sugars together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).

3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the vanilla extract or vanilla sugar. I used vanilla sugar this time.Â

4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients(flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt), mixing until just combined.

5. Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks.

6. Chill the dough (optional but recommended) for 30–60 minutes to improve texture and flavor.
Â
7. Scoop dough into 2-tablespoon-sized balls and place them on the baking tray, leaving space between each.

8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and centers look just set.
Â
9. Let cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
(Optional: Sprinkle with flaky sea salt while warm.)

🍫 Tips for Cookie Perfection:
Use a mix of chopped chocolate and chips for gooey texture and contrast.
For a soft center, slightly underbake and let cookies finish setting on the tray.
Freeze extra dough balls for fresh cookies anytime — just bake a couple when the craving hits!
📝 Final Thoughts
These chocolate chip cookies have become a staple in our home — and I hope they become one in yours too. Whether you’re baking for someone special or just treating yourself, these cookies are always a hit.
